For many student scholarship recipients, the cost of travelling to the WAI conference to attend the AWAM Scholarship Awards Ceremony is beyond their means. In 2023, a generous donor made it possible for us to bring 3 scholarship recipients to Long Beach to attend the entire WAI conference, and to be present at the AWAM Scholarship Awards Ceremony. It was wonderful to have been able to welcome these young women into the aviation community in such a profound and generous manner, and we have been inspired to to try and make this happen for a few more student scholarship recipients for the 2024 conference in Orlando, Florida. Contributions made to this scholarship fund will go towards assisting the next generation of women in aviation maintenance to achieve their educational goals. As an A&P and a professor in maintenance, Mary Ann spent her career encouraging women to break boundaries in aviation fields. She was a founding board member of Women in Aviation International (WAI), and instrumental in the formation of the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM). She touched our lives as she did the lives of so many others, and we are proud to know that her work will continue through this scholarship fund.
