º  September 22-25, 2002 - 13th Annual Conference on Quality in Commercial Aviation (CQCA) Weston Hotel - Galleria in Dallas Sponsored by FAA and Aviation/Space and Defense Division of the American Society for Quality. Guest Speaker is Captain Denny Fitch, who was a passenger on a DC-10 in 1989 when it lost all hydraulics and flight controls and volunteered his services during a successful crash landing.

*º  Sept 9-12, 2002 - National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) 55th Annual Meeting & Convention, Orlando, FL. AWAM had a booth.

AWAM had a booth, a speaker and participated as judges.

º  April 7-12, 2002 -  Sun N' Fun, Lakeland, FL - AWAM  President Robin Lamar spoke about opportunities for Women in Aviation technology, and The ABCs of getting an A&P. Marcia worked in the Basic Electrical/Avionics workshop. Free camping and event access for volunteers. Come volunteer next year. Share your knowledge.  Call Victor at 941-644-2431.

AWAM had a booth and as usual volunteers were be heartily welcomed.

Our Annual Breakfast Honoring Women in Aviation Technology was 7 am Wednesday, March 27th at the Marriott Hotel.

º  March 24-26, 2002 - ATEC National Meeting, Indianapolis, IN www.atec-amt.org. AWAM shared a booth. AWAM Board Secretary Alice Rice, VP Laura Gordon and Director Bob Takacs were in attendance.

The AWAM Aviation Maintenance Seminar and IA renewal was held Wednesday, March 13th from 8 to 5.

AWAM was at booth #407. Volunteers were appreciated at the booth. To volunteer at future events please contact Alice RIce at mar246@juno.com.

The Annual Members Meeting was Thursday March 14th at 5:00 pm. Our 5th Birthday Party celebration followed, sponsored by Aircraft Electronics Association.

Friday morning, March 15th was our Annual Technical Awards Breakfast, sponsored by Pratt & Whitney.
