AWAM Participates in “Train the Trainer”

The Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM) was invited to participate in the Pratt and Whitney week long “Train the Trainer” course.  Robin Lamar, Vice President for AWAM, presented her seminar, “Women in Aviation….Too”.

Attendees were teachers and instruction managers with major airlines and Pratt and Whitney users from all over the world. Lamar indicated that this was a great opportunity for AWAM to support women in industry and to let industry know more about women working in technical fields.

Denise Water, Director for AWAM, also attended the week long lecture series.  She was available to provide informational materials about AWAM to those present.  Waters said that “ many of the attendees were very interested in the role of women in aviation maintenance”.

AWAM is a three year old organization whose mission is to provide support and to champion women’s professional growth in aviation maintenance/Technology.  This is accomplished through education, scholarships, networking and informational publications.   For more information, call 904-424-5780 or visit us at www.awam.org.
